(Eve likes the title of mother of humanity. It's one she chooses to use more frequently than Adam and Eve, or the first woman as that's Lilith. She sees herself as a mother, it feels better than wife. It feels better than girlfriend. But as an individual, she still has no idea. She genuinely looks a little lost.)
Maze, one of our Lilith's daughters, she loves me, she wanted me to be with her. I left because I didn't want to define myself by her desire either, even though she's better for me, kinder to me, than any man has been.
(It wasn't Maze's fault she fell in love with a half-made person. Eve loves her dearly, as her friend, and also possibly something else in the future. But not yet.)
I want adventure. I want to experience the modern world, even if it's this version of it. (It still is advanced and unique and fascinating to her.) I want to make friends and feel like I'm accomplishing something, or that I'm worth something. I want to be real. (it's hard to describe what she means by that, but it is at her core. If she's been created for others, if she's a symbol, she isn't a person.)
( there's a casual hint of interest when eve starts talking about her daughter (not her daughter but-- her daughter), letting it fade to listen to eve rather than asking about maze )
Then it will be.
( it's easy to make assurances but lilith's going to back it up with something else, something that she didn't make sense but honestly it makes sense. and she wants to do it. she's taking control back of her own life, learning as well what she wants. this fits )
I spoke before about learning your power. That you'll do with me. ( eve could say no but learn from power, from the first witch ) And-- we'll find things that you enjoy. There are people here from many worlds, different experiences and enjoyments. Between them all you should find something you enjoy.
I've been enjoying gardening! (Eve smiles and gestures in the direction of the back yard.) My housemate Apollo asked me to help him figure out strawberries. I've been cooking and baking too ... (She shrugs.) Sometimes I wonder if I naturally lean toward the domestic too much because of how I was made, but also if it makes me happy, why fight it?
(She may be made this way, but she can also try to modify the things about herself she doesn't like. Not erase the things that she does just because it falls in line too much with what the perfect wife and mother used to mean.)
Chloe helped me make a real resume so I could get a job I like more. I think I'm going to be a bartender, I'd be really good at it. I like listening to people.
( she didn't admit it but that domesticity-- lilith didn't believe that it was because of how she was made, not when it was something that lilith herself also had a fondness for. she preferred potions, brewing them, the magic of it all but even baking had some appeal. that she did by hand, creating and shaping, using it to take her mind from whatever troubled her.
but it was a quietly kept secret, something that she wasn't going to admit even to eve. at least not in this moment. but she stored the information away, along with eve's other likes, thinking of things that could aid her )
Considering what you've done-- ( listening to all of those people in heaven, that's what eve had told her ) you're certainly-- experienced. Something which may aid others here. They saw to place me as a Life Coach when I arrived though-- it would be more fitting of you.
( Eve has only really started looking inside of herself recently. There was no reason to before, she went about the afterlife simply existing. She asked herself what she wanted and that was how she ended back on Earth, and she still didn't really question her motivations or inner workings until forced into it by other people. Humans do a lot of soul searching these days. It used to be so much simpler, but she likes the difference! Mostly! Only now that her self-awareness has taken root.)
You think? (She takes it as a very sweet compliment, clearly flattered. Her smile is affectionate. She feels so emotionally bonded to Lilith and it doesn't matter their union has been a short time.) I think they just pick jobs that are either really simple and easy, like grocery clerk, or something almost clever and ironic.
(Eve rolls her eyes.) Lucifer's an underwear model. Like I need a reminder!
Of course he does. (She has to laugh.) It's ideal for him, you know? He would walk around in his underwear naked for people to look at without needing money. (Eve loves him so much.)
People have been here so long. And they don't know why we're here or how to stop it. (And who is Eve to try and make sense of it when other people can't?) If you and Lucifer, with all your strength and powers and stuff, can't get us back, we might be stuck for real.
I hope you're right. (She is less sure, but she does want to go back to her world. She wants to know that if she dies she has the option to going back to her family. And she wants to see Maze again, not that she'd admit to as much. Eve does smile though and lift her drink toward Lilith.) I'm really glad we got to meet, though.
